Like Living in A Furnace.

It's Hell. It really is. I can't even really put into words how awful it is to live in Southern California right now. My class is at 10:35, and by the time I leave my apartment at 10, it's usually already 90° or so. By noon it's been hovering around 106°, and stays that way until 6 or so in the evening. I have a window unit, a ceiling fan, four standing fans and a wall-thing constantly blowing cold-ish air on me, on top of being naked at all times in my apartment, and it's still too hot to move. I don't understand it.

Other than the unbearable heat, my class is going well. I'm not in it to make any friends, so I haven't really spoken with any of my classmates, and I only hate one of them, so all in all, it could be worse. The professor is a total hoot, and he spent an hour last Thursday telling us a story about his experiences with Mexican shamanic hallucinogens in graduate school. That was an interesting experience.

More to come.
